Operating a successful flooring business is about more than selling flooring products. Our reputation has been built on providing personal service, no-surprise dependable quotes, and on-time professional installations to satisfied customers. Beginning over 40 years ago as a carpet installer's helper, owner, Ernie Hughie, has been involved in all aspects of the flooring industry.

Knowledge -- Our sales staff is knowledgeable about the products we sell. They have taken the time to visit mills and manufacturers to understand a product's construction. That knowledge translates into benefits to the customer because knowing how a product is made helps our understanding of its appropriate application. Anyone who has ever purchased an expensive product that didn't perform to expectation can understand and appreciate having true knowledge-based guidance.

Experience -- Something that can't be over-emphasized in the flooring industry is experience. If flooring was something to hang on the wall or display in a case, there are many people that have taste and style for choosing flooring. Since flooring is a product to be used on a daily basis, a product that takes daily wear and abuse from weight, traffic, cleaning, and abrasion, choosing the right product is essential. Knowing how a product will perform under those conditions coupled with the experience of how to prepare a subfloor for installation and, of course, having the correct tools and installation techniques comes from daily experience and monitoring over time.

Integrity -- The measure of a good business is not so much in those things done right but in what happens when things are not quite right. We want every product and installation to be perfect for each and every customer -- and it usually is!   However, when something does cause concern, our policy is to address it immediately and do everything possible to resolve the problem with as little inconvenience to the customer as possible. Our reputation is based on honest and fair service to customers.

History -- Our flooring company began in 1985 in Cumming, Georgia. Betty Gano, owner of Gano's Carpets and Interiors in Atlanta, was a long-time friend of the family, whose influence and contacts in the carpet industry helped Ernie Hughie launch his business known then as Gano Prestige Carpets, Inc. From 1985 to 1993 the business thrived and grew to include a number of salespeople and decorators. In 1993 Ernie established his own company under the name of Wall to Wall Designs, Inc. as sole owner.

Until 1993, most of our business came from builders in the Fulton and Forsyth areas. Since 1993 that business has shifted to referral business, repeat customers and homeowners who became acquainted with us when purchasing from builders who used us for their flooring. We have installed flooring for weekend cabins to 10,000 square foot homes, rental properties, clubhouses, commercial establishments, and high-rise Atlanta properties. No matter what size the job is, each customer is given personal service and attention to every detail.
